In the Year 2020...We Started a Blog
If you would’ve asked us in 2019 what we thought about starting a blog, we would’ve told you it sounded like a good idea and forgotten about it. We got social media! Why would we need to blog?
Why? Well, 2020 has given us a lot of reasons. Let us tell you a little story. Back in February of this year, we were looking at our most profitable month in existence as a company. It was only the second month of the year, and it was looking like the rest of 2020 was going to pan out to our best yet. Then March happened.
You know the story. COVID-19. Nationwide shutdowns of nearly every city in the country, including our own Los Angeles. The restaurant and hospitality industry left in a state of indefinite limbo. Not to mention the social upheaval going on throughout the US and the rest of the world.
We were just like you, trying to make sense of everything, planning and replanning as the situation has continued to change. March was a month of deep uncertainty for us. So, against our nature, we decided to be cautious and watch the situation closely, carefully planning our next moves.
And the plan turned into something that we never expected. FOOD EQUALS FAMILY (FEF). We launched this program as an LA-based meal kit pick-up to provide some much needed fun with food for families trying to find normalcy throughout all of this craziness. Inspired by our own quarantine experiences of spending more and more time with our families, FEF has transformed from a meal kit program to our company philosophy.
Food equals family, whatever and whoever you call family. And for us, as food professionals, that includes you, our guests. And we miss you. We miss being able to chat with you at the bar, conversations at the table, complimenting you on your dope shoes...you know...COMMUNITY. But times have changed and we can’t do things like we used to.
So...we’re starting a blog. THIS blog! It has already begun!
We will be posting here every week, bringing you updates on Seoul Sausage as well as sharing news and culture, providing you with original recipes, and debuting some unique creative content we can only hint at right now.
Food Equals Family was just the beginning. You’ve probably noticed of late that we’ve been a little quiet. Never fear! The Sausage Boyz have some exciting projects in development. We recently announced national delivery of our kits and have been quietly working on a new partnership to bring our flavors anywhere in the US. Just you wait!
You don’t have to be too patient! We’ll be unveiling this new project within the next few days. So, come back and keep an eye on this blog!
